QloApps alternative: PHP hotel booking scripts compared

QloApps and our PHP hotel booking scripts compared: costs, stack, payments, channel sync and support, including when QloApps is the better choice.

By Pandao · Updated · 4 min read

QloApps is a free, open-source hotel booking system by Webkul, built on PrestaShop. If you're looking for a QloApps alternative, you may want a codebase written for PHP 8 rather than adapted from an e-commerce platform, support included in the price, or owner accounts for several hotels without extra modules. This page compares it with our PHP hotel booking scripts, Panda Resort for one hotel and Panda Multi Resorts for several, including where QloApps is the better choice.

What each one really costs

QloApps costs nothing to download: you pay for hosting, and for what you add. Its channel manager is billed per property, $30 a month or $300 a year, and modules such as the marketplace for owner accounts ($199), point of sale ($199) or revenue management ($125) are sold separately. Webkul also charges for installation ($99.99) and support plans, if you want them. If you'd rather not host it, its SaaS plans start at $15.80 a month, billed yearly.

Panda Resort costs $69 and Panda Multi Resorts $79, paid once, with free updates and six months of support from us. Both include iCal sync and verified reviews; Panda Multi Resorts adds owner accounts and separate payment accounts for each property. If hotels pay you to use your platform, for example as a monthly service, CodeCanyon's Extended licence applies ($399). You pay for your own hosting.

Where Panda Resort and Multi Resorts differ

  • Written for PHP 8. They run on Pandao CMS 8, built for PHP 8.2 to 8.5; QloApps is a fork of PrestaShop 1.6, adapted to run on PHP 8.1 to 8.4.
  • Website tools built in. A page builder, a blog and forms come with the booking engine, in as many languages as you need.
  • Multi-vendor out of the box. In Panda Multi Resorts, each property has its own owner, rooms, rates and Stripe or PayPal accounts. Read how to build a multi-vendor hotel booking platform.
  • Support included. Six months of support from the developers come with your purchase; extend to twelve months at checkout or renew later.

When QloApps is the better choice

  • You want open source and a free licence, and you're happy to install, update and support it yourself, or have a developer who will.
  • You need a two-way channel manager that syncs prices and availability with Booking.com, Expedia and others: QloApps offers one as a paid service, while our scripts only exchange booked dates through iCal, which Booking.com usually offers only to listings with a single unit.
  • You need PDF invoices, a point of sale or detailed statistics in the same system: QloApps has them, in its core or as add-ons.
  • You'd rather not host anything: QloApps sells hosted SaaS plans.

Try before you choose

Both of our scripts have live demos with their admin panel open (username admin, password admin123): Panda Resort and Panda Multi Resorts. Our guide to choosing a PHP hotel booking script lists what to check on any demo, QloApps included.

Common questions

Is there a WordPress option?
